Meaning |
Lamb |
A lamb is young sheep which is still young enough to need to stay with its mother (or be hand reared). |
Hogg |
This is a male or female sheep that is between the age of 6-15 months. After that they become a shearling. |
Shearling |
Once a sheep has been shorn (wool clipped off) it is refered to as a Shearling. The age of the sheep is then refered to as one shear or two shear etc. |
Ewe |
A female sheep is called a EWE |
Tup or Ram |
A male sheep is refered to as a Tup or Ram |
